Former United Nations Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold once said: “Man's longest journey is an inward journey.” How many of us can really relate to this?
Most journeys have a clear destination, but the journey within them is different. In Hindu philosophy, this journey is seen as moksha, the path to liberation of the soul. Each time a soul is reincarnated, its purpose remains the same. It's about strengthening your bond with yourself. When we get in touch with our soul, we clarify our true purpose in life.
Often we are taught that focusing on ourselves is selfish and a false concept that prevents us from connecting with our deep self. But in reality, connecting with self reveals hidden truths of our soul. It reveals patterns in our lives that no longer serve us and reveals the karmic debts we carry. These obstacles often hide as challenges and provide us with opportunities for healing and growth.
Connecting to your inner divinity begins with fully accepting yourself, flaws and struggles alike. Stop and think about what triggered it and why. Write down your thoughts and experiences in a journal to give yourself space to discover yourself. Instead of following strict religious rituals, choose to pray and meditate in a way that speaks to you. Spend time in nature and learn to enjoy your own company. In doing so, you will begin to hear the pure, positive voice of your inner divinity, your true self.
