Engineering and architecture students are finalizing plans for a project called “Tri-Haut pour l'Everest,” which aims to build a recycling center at the foot of Mount Everest to help local residents combat pollution from tourist waste.
Trio Pour Revelest is working on a dizzying project: building a recycling centre at the foot of Everest (8,848 metres) in the Khumbu Valley in Nepal. The aim is to deal with the 250 tonnes of non-recyclable waste left behind by climbers every year. Five students studying architecture and engineering in Grenoble – Arthur, Lauren, Pierre, Clemence and Lucas – are finishing up their proposal. They will fly to Pangboche, the last inhabited village before the first base camp of Everest, to start building the recycling centre.
