Revealing the Spiritual Meaning of the Vernal Equinox

The spiritual meaning of the gates on the spring and autumn equinoxes

Since ancient times, the equinox has been revered as a powerful time to tap into the wisdom of the Earth, the light of the Sun, and a deep connection to Source, the entire universe, and all life.

The moment of equinox transition is a moment of great potential for transcending limitations and embodying a higher sense of truth, presence, divine “I am” and light.

The Spiritual Meaning of the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes

The Sun is the source of light and life on Earth. The vernal and autumnal equinoxes are important turning points in the solar seasonal cycle. Ancient cultures and traditions around the world have long respected the seasonal cycle and placed great emphasis on the turning points of the solstices and equinoxes.

The Earth's journey around the Sun represents the cycles of light and darkness, and of birth, growth, life, decay, death and rebirth.

The vernal equinox occurs twice a year, around March 20th and September 21st, when the sun's rays shine directly on the equator.

During these two times of the year, the Earth's tilt (its rotational orbit) is in line with the Sun. When this astronomical event occurs, the Sun crosses the celestial equator and we experience the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes, times of balanced day and night with approximately 12 hours of day and 12 hours of darkness.

This is an auspicious time when days and nights are nearly equal, creating perfect balance across the planet – masculine and feminine in balance, light and dark, creating supportive and harmonious energies for all.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, speaking of the yogic tradition, said: “At the spring and autumn equinoxes, the days and nights are of equal length. In life too, we should aim for a balance between work and rest, giving and receiving, activity and rest.”

Depending on which hemisphere you're in and what time of year it is, the vernal or autumnal equinox marks the arrival of spring.

The Vernal Equinox marks the beginning of spring, a time of new life and fresh energy for the hemisphere as the days begin to lengthen and we move towards the Summer Solstice, while the Autumnal Equinox marks the beginning of the harvest season celebrating the summer's bountiful harvest and preparing for winter as the days shorten and a time of rest approaches.

The Equinox Energy Triggers Ascension

The spring equinox and the ascension

The energy of the Vernal Equinox is essentially an ascension catalyst for humanity and the Earth.

With each passing equinox comes a new wave of balance and light, an opportunity to transcend illusion and step further into our true truth and soul light.

“Energy portals are opening and there will be more. This is part of the restoration of the divine blueprint of your world… It will peak as the Equinox progresses, activating crystalline energies that have been dormant for a long time.” -Archangel Metatron, channeled by Melanie Beckler
