The power of right thinking

When he returned to the monastery, there was a monk in the courtyard who came up to him and asked, “Mark, did you do anything differently today? The gong sounded different.” This is the amazing power of right thinking. So as you go through your days, ask yourself, “Am I having a 'gong thought' right now?”

Understanding the impact of our blessings

It is very important, especially for those who practice blessings, to understand the impact of our thoughts, blessings, meditations and prayers. They can (and will) change the world. May we be blessed with the understanding that every meaningful blessing we feel deeply, like a bird with outstretched wings, carries a message of love far and wide, yes, to the ends of the earth. May we truly understand that just as the oceans are made up of hundreds of billions of drops of water, so the present and future of humanity is made up of billions of thoughts and intentions. May we realize that every minute, even if only slightly, we are affecting the level of consciousness of the entire planet, and that every thought of love and light, every heartfelt blessing, is helping to make an impact somewhere, to fill a need, to allay a fear, to bring inspiration, to awaken in someone, somewhere, a vision that will meet their needs. Just as every negative thought or emotion can slow our progress as we race to the horizon of wider grace that awaits us all. May we understand that we are connecting with millions of silent spiritual seekers and supporting the world with our blessings and prayers. May we trust that our blessings will bring healing all over the world, whether it be to an immigrant family in our neighborhood, a native tribe in the Amazon fighting for basic rights, a civil rights activist being tortured in the Middle East, or a desperate mother abandoned by her husband in a Third World slum struggling for the survival of her young children. May we humbly recognize that the blessings of our hearts can help a desperate mother find support to save her sick child, or lift the spirits of a prisoner who has been in solitary confinement for 35 years and is thinking of suicide. And somewhere, it will fill a need. For that is the law of love. We bless ourselves with the understanding that we are healers of the world, even if we have not realized that fact until now. May we be so grateful for this powerful realization that we will gladly work to embody it every day, in every way, wherever we are, in every spiritual space we inhabit. And may we know that beyond the necessary healing brought about by our constant blessings in the human realm, there is a realm of light and space of consciousness that is untouched by any error, where healing is not even necessary because all is always well.Pierre Pradervin, June 2024
